In the Mount Pleasant area of Washington, pedestrians pass a strewn copy of the Washington Hispanic. The publication covers local and international news relevant to the Latino community.
Carl Bethea, a national park service employee, reads The (Baltimore) Sun in the Metro station every day before heading to work. “It’s a ritual,” Mr. Bethea said.

Jian Hui Lin follows the recent turmoil between China and the United States in the World Journal, a Chinese publication. Mr. Lin picked up a copy from the Da Hua Market in Washington’s Chinatown district on Tuesday.

As some people rush to work, Liz Hayden leisurely peruses pages of The Washington Post on a cool Tuesday morning.

For Nheeta Rau, the news doesn’t end at the bus stop. Ms. Rau reads The Washington Post as she waits for her ride Wednesday.
