ASNE Institute
for Journalism Excellence
The ASNE Institute for Journalism Excellence, which just completed
its sixth year with funding from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation,
builds stronger ties between newspapers and the academy. More than 100
journalism faculty have taken part in a seven-week program that includes
a six week, hands-on job in a newsroom. ASNE Fellows receive a $5,500 stipend,
plus paid transportation and housing. Educators and newspaper editors interested
in learning about the Institute may contact ASNE Project Director Cristal
Williams at 703-453-1138.
