Moved on ...

Jane Amari is now executive editor of The News Journal in Wilmington, Del., a Gannett paper. She had been with The Kansas City Star. Scripps Howard editor Colleen Conant, formerly with the Naples (Fla.) Daily News, moved to executive editor of the Daily Camera in Boulder, when the exchange of newspapers with Knight-Ridder was completed. Conant replaced Addie Rimmer, who will stay with Knight-Ridder. John Costa is now editor in chief of Western Communications in Bend, Ore. He was with The Idaho Statesman in Boise. Steve Gray is leaving The Monroe (Mich.) Evening News, where he was president and editor, to become managing publisher of The Christian Science Monitor. David Kushma moved from the Detroit Free Press to Memphis when he was named editorial page editor of The Commercial Appeal. Horvitz Newspapers has relocated Catherine Shen from the South County Journal in Kent, Wash., to Bellevue, where she is vice president/news and new media. Bill Steinauer, former executive editor of the Bucks County Courier Times in Levittown, Pa., is now executive editor of The Times Herald-Record. The Middletown, N.Y., Ottaway-owned paper also has a new managing editor: Meg Angus-Smith, who was editor of The Daily Star in Oneonta, N.Y.
