Leadership vs. Management
What leadership challenges do you face?
How editors can become more effective leaders will be the focus of a
segment of the 1998 ASNE convention. Stephen Covey, whose book "The Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People" has sold more than 6 million copies,
is working with us to develop the program.
This segment is being designed to address editors’ real-life issues
in leadership — so we’d like to know about yours. Are you wrestling with
resistance to a reorganization plan for the newsroom? Worried that you
spend so much time managing people you don’t have time to lead them? Struggling
with your paper’s mission to assume a leadership role in the community?
