ASNE on the move

Former ASNE president Loren Ghiglione will represent the Society in an address to the newly formed South African National Editors’ Forum, when the group gathers for its first convention in late January. Ghiglione’s transportation costs are being underwritten by The Freedom Forum. Its African office helped establish the editors group.

SANEF is somewhat modeled on ASNE. According to Joe Thloloe, acting executive director of the group, "We are grappling with the question of transforming the media in this country and making them more reflective of South African society in their content, their personnel and their ownership."
