ASNE on the move

Newbold Noyes, 79, of Sorrento, Maine, died Dec. 18. Noyes joined ASNE in 1958, and served as the Society’s president in 1970-71, while editor of the Washington Evening Star. Robert E.L. (Bob) Baker, 74, died Dec. 30 in Fredericksburg, Va., where he was managing editor of The Free Lance-Star from 1976 until 1988. He was a member for 17 years. Harvey Jacobs, 82, died Nov. 27 in Franklin, Ind., where he was an adjunct professor at Franklin College. Jacobs joined ASNE in 1975, and retired in 1992 as editor of The Indianapolis News.
