ASNE on the move

Saundra Keyes, managing editor of the Contra Costa Times, Walnut Creek, Calif., is ASNE’s new representative on the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. She replaces former ASNE president Bill Ketter, who has represented the Society on the accrediting council since 1996.

The council, which has 35 members, sets the standards by which journalism schools are accredited. It is the final arbiter on recommendations on schools for accreditation.

The council has been headed by an ASNE member since it was founded in 1947.

The ASNE Foundation currently makes an annual contribution of $5,000 to the council.
