ASNE on the move

Jerry Ceppos, San Jose (Calif.) Mercury News editor, was elected president of the journalism accrediting organization, the Accrediting Council on Journalism and Mass Communication.  He succeeds Bob Giles, executive director of the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center in New York. Giles headed the council during the past six years.  The council has been led by an ASNE member since it was founded in 1947. Ceppos has been the representative of the Associated Press Managing Editors.
