Seaton praised Cuba’s government on Nov. 13 for allowing the reopening of an Associated Press bureau:

“ASNE has long urged the Cuban government to allow AP to operate a bureau in Havana. AP operations in Cuba will help people all over the world, including Americans, better understand developments in Cuba in a more timely and comprehensive way.”

During the recent ASNE trip to Cuba, participants pressed government officials — including President Fidel Castro — on allowing the AP bureau to reopen.
