ASNE
on the move
The ASNE International Committee, under the leadership of Gregory Moore
of The Boston Globe, is planning a weeklong fact-finding trip to Brazil
from Oct. 23 -Nov. 1.
Brazil is struggling to stabilize its economy, an issue that hits home
because there are 2,000 U.S. companies with a presence there. Can Brazil
balance the demands of free market economics and the need to lift much
of its population from grinding poverty? Meetings are being arranged with
the country's political, economic, social and media leaders.
The trip will include stops in Sao Paulo, Brasila and Rio de Janeiro.
The estimated cost per person is about $3,100 per person, including airfare
from New York's JFK Airport, business class hotels and breakfasts and local
transportation. For two people sharing a room, the cost is about $2,650
per person.
