ASNE on the move

Robert C. Notson, president of ASNE in 1966-67, died Sept. 7 at age 96.  Notson was publisher of The Oregonian, Portland, when he retired in 1975.  He was a member for 46 years.

Perry Morgan, 72, retired publisher of The Virginian Pilot and The Ledger-Star in Norfolk and head of news operations for Landmark Communications, died Nov. 7.  He joined ASNE in 1960.

"For me, he was a journalistic compass and a dear friend," said Sandra Mims Rowe, editor of The Oregonian in Portland and 1997-98 ASNE president.
