ASNE on the move

Jay Ambrose has been promoted to director of editorial policy for Scripps Howard Newspapers. He will remain in Washington where he had been chief editorial writer for Scripps Howard News Service. Ward Bushee is now editor of The Cincinnati Enquirer, moving from editor of the Reno (Nev.) Gazette-Journal. Gannett owns both papers. Bushee replaced Larry Beaupre, earlier named a corporate news executive at Gannett’s Arlington, Va., headquarters. Gene Policinski is relocating to Nashville where he will be director of media relations/special projects for The First Amendment Center. He leaves Freedom Forum headquarters in Arlington, Va., where he held several positions since joining the staff in 1996.
