Using narrative style

Editors and publishers can derive several benefits from adopting narrative storytelling as a writing form. Narratives...

1. Sell newspapers.
2. Create reader interest and can invigorate newspapers
3. Get people to read, and increase the time they spend with newspapers
4. Are a way to tell complicated stories in a human way.
5. Are a way to help people make sense of their lives.
6. Mirror life — we don’t know what will happen next, and have to move forward to find out. People have to read to the end.
7. Help editors and reporters create a closer bond and better understand each other.
8. Help reporters stretch, to take chances, to try new things.
9. Help newspapers get out of a rut.
10. Create a buzz in the newsroom and improve individual morale.
