Nine applicants were elected to membership by the ASNE board in September.

New York Times Syndicate; Jeffrey Burkhead, executive editor, Emporia
(Kan.) Gazette; Jonathan Cooper, editor, The Register Citizen, Torrington,
Conn.; Roberto Fabricio, associate editor, El Nuevo Herald, Miami;
Timothy Kane, managing editor, Community Newspaper Company, Needham,
Mass.; Fred Kardon, editor-in-chief, The Daily Record, Baltimore
(former member); Larry King, executive editor, Omaha (Neb.) World-Herald;
Randy Miller, vice president/publishing, Lee Enterprises, Davenport,
