Former member Bob Rhodes, the retired executive editor of the Caller-Times, died Dec. 30 at his home in Corpus Christi, Texas. He had cancer and was 69.

Rhodes was well-known among members for his keen sense of humor. He and his wife Shirley were popular attendees of ASNE's annual meetings for many years.

In addition to being an ASNE member, 41-year Caller-Times veteran headed the Associated Press Managing Editors group and taught college journalism.
