ASNE's Future of Newspapers Committee is linking up with the Newspaper Association of America to launch a new demographic study. mASNE's participation will enable the researchers to expand the planned sample size to 3,000 adults.

The two associations also plan to conduct interviews with small groups of people to provide substance to the numbers, according to Cole Campbell, soon-to-be-editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Future of Newspapers chair. Other ASNE players are Jennie Rae Buckner, Charlotte Observer, and Frank Denton, Wisconsin State Journal.
