While the subscription price for The American Editor has stayed the same for almost 10 years, postal rates have skyrocketed - especially since postal reform in July. ASNE now loses $3 per year on U.S. subscriptions. International postage has also gone up at a high rate. ASNE now loses $30 per year on some foreign subscriptions.
Because of this, we are raising the subscription price of the magazine for non-members in 1997. Members will continue to get the magazine through their dues payments.
As of Jan. 1, 1997, subscription rates for The American Editor will be:
| United States | Canada | Foreign Surface Mail | Foreign Air mail |
| One year | $29 | $34.50 | $44 | $64 |
| Two years | $50 | $61 | $80 | $120 |
| Three years | $72 | $88.50 | $117 | $177 |
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars
