ASNE programs can help newspapers in their efforts at building diversity

In addition to establishing the new Diversity Pacesetter Awards to recognize excellent performance in key diversity areas, the American Society of Newspaper Editors has created several programs to help editors in the diversity area.

These are part of the organization’s overall goal of having the nation’s newspapers meet by 2025 a goal of minority employment equivalent to the percentage of minority persons within the national population.

Editors seeking to gain further insight, diversify the content of their newspapers and build a more diverse staff are urged to take advantage of these ASNE programs.
