We're accepting applications for the three upcoming Minority Leadership Institutes we are hosting this year. This is a great training opportunity for journalists to acquire newsroom leadership and management skills. Each institute has a different application deadline. We are accepting applications for the three upcoming Minority Leadership Institutes to train minority journalists to become leaders in their organizations and in the industry. Each institute has a different application deadline, and candidates must apply to the specific institute of their choice.
- Apply by July 3 for the institute at NABJ, which will be Aug. 6-7 during the NABJ Convention & Career Fair in Minneapolis. The institute is free to participants who are also registered to attend the convention. Wednesday-night lodging will be provided free.
- Apply by Aug. 7 for the institute at NAHJ/RTDNA/SPJ, which will be Sept. 17-18 before the Excellence in Journalism conference in Orlando. The institute is free to participants who are also registered to attend the conference. Thursday-night lodging will be provided free.
- Apply by Aug. 28 for the institute at ASNE-APME, which will be Oct. 15-16 before the ASNE-APME conference in Palo Alto, California. The institute is free to participants.
About 16 mid-level editors and news directors from news organizations around the country will be selected for each institute.
